If you’re a member of Starbucks Rewards, you know the pressure you feel to reach Gold Level.
I’ve never reached gold, I doubt I ever will. I’m currently at green…been there for quite some time.
Even though I’m not a huge fan of Starbucks coffee, I still feel compelled to get their rewards! It’s actually a little crazy. If it weren’t for this stupid rewards card I would probably never order from Starbucks. Nevertheless, the Starbucks rewards card is genius.
People go crazy for coffee.
I mean really frickin’ crazy.
I like it, don’t get me wrong. But I’m not drawn to it like many people seem to be. I get no energy from the caffeine, in fact the warmth of it makes me sleepy. I do, however, enjoy a cup of the quality stuff.
You know the kind I’m talking about. Organic, premium beans–locally roasted. Smooth, single drip brews.
Philly has some amazing options for top of the line coffee, and the bean scene is only getting better.
That’s why it would be AMAZING if Philly adopted the idea for a monthly service offering unlimited coffee for $45/month using a smartphone app called CUPS–similar to the Starbucks rewards card.
CUPS hopes to be expanding into 200 NYC coffee shops in the very near future.
So let’s do the math here:
$45 for 30 days.
Let’s say a cup of coffee costs $2. If you’re purchasing one coffee a day, you’d be spending at least $60. Now think about purchasing two cups a day, or more, and suddenly the savings are astronomical.
If you already buy your coffee daily, there’s no doubt that this is an incredible deal–absolutely worth the cost of subscription.
Imagine being able to use this app at JOE, Ultimo, La Colombe (ughhh, LC, you coffee wizards), Shot Tower, etc.
Would you pay $45/month for unlimited Philly coffee? I can think of quite a few people who would jump at this opportunity.
